How much does it cost?

The price quoted will depend on the severity of hair loss and amount of work involved. Prices start from £1100 for a smaller amount of hair loss i.e mainly concentrated on the crown. For FUE/FUT scar coverups, prices start from £900. All prices quoted include 3 sessions, plus another if required.

Will SMP make my hair grow back?

Hair will not grow back as a result of having Scalp Micropigmentation. SMP is a cosmetic procedure which simulates the look of real shaved hair follicles.

It is often used alongside other methods such as hair transplants as it can give the illusion of denser hair and does not interfere with the hair’s growth cycle.

What happens if i lose more hair after?

During the treatment we scatter the pigment lightly into existing hair so the blend between tattoo and hair is seamless.

Losing patches of hair happens gradually over years so you can simply return if you think you have more patches of hair which require some filling in or wait until your next top up.

How long does it last?

SMP can last a lifetime with maintenance touch-ups every 3-5 years to keep the colour fresh.

Ink retention depends on skin type, sun exposure, condition of the scalp before treatment, and good aftercare. A dry, flaky scalp will not hold ink as well as one that is hydrated and moisturised. Similarly, those with extra oily skin may find that ink does not hold as well.

Will the ink change colour?

No, we use a black carbon-based pigment which is diluted to the correct shade and therefore does not fade to a blue/green tinge like regular tattoos.

However, we recommend using SPF 30 when in direct sunlight for extended periods as this can cause the ink to lighten more quickly and reduce the time between top ups.

How long is the process?

For a full head of work, it usually takes 3-4 sessions, over a period of 6-8 weeks to achieve your desired results.

Each session takes 2-3 hours. This varies depending on the size of the area needing to be treated.

Can I get my beard tattooed?

YES – but we do not like to treat beards. Beards change with trends and this is a permanent procedure, so it is not something we would usually take on.
